Y6 Transition

Welcome to Tapton School

At Tapton we strive to make the transition process as smooth as possible for families. Activities take place throughout the year to support students as they manage the change from primary to secondary.

This begins with our Open Evening where we welcome the families of all Year 6 students to visit Tapton and sample all that we have to offer on Wednesday 2nd October 2024 5.00 - 7.00pm

Following this, we communicate with families in March once they have been notified by the local authority that their child has received a place at Tapton. We share the full range of events taking place at this point. These include:

  • A Welcome Evening in March
  • Parent and Carer Workshops in March
  • A morning dedicated to students from non feeder schools in June
  • A SEND specific programme of activities in June
  • 3 full Transition Days in July
